Suspended OC Pradeep’s associate put on 5-day remand



A Cox’s Bazar court today placed suspended Teknaf OC Pradeep Kumar Das’s associate Constable Rubel Sharma on a five-day remand in a case filed over the killing of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan.

Judge Tamanna Farah of Senior Judicial Magistrate Court-4 in Cox’s Bazar granted the remand prayer after Investigation Officer Senior Assistant Superintendent Mohamamd Khairul Alam produced the accused before her court this noon seeking eight-day remand prayer for the second term.

Earlier, on September 30, the accused police constable was placed on a seven-day remand in connection with the murder case.

On August 6, suspended officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station Pradeep Kumar Das, Inspector Liaqat Ali, and Sub-Inspector Nandadulal Rakhshit were each placed on 7-day remand by a Cox’s Bazar court. Inspector Liaqat Ali, who shot Sinha dead, is the prime accused in the case.
