Malaysia-bound expat workers demonstrate in front of foreign ministry

Several thousand Malaysia-bound Bangladeshi expatriate workers started demonstrating in front of the foreign ministry since today morning, demanding that the government takes immediate measures to review their visa so that they can return to their workplaces in Malaysia.

Around 25,000 stranded Bangladeshi workers have been waiting since March to go to Malaysia.

Agitated expats suspended their demonstration programme at 1:30pm following assurance by Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen that the government will take necessary measures to resolve their problems.
