A 17-year-old girl from Bogura was held in Gazipur’s Kaliakoir for allegedly hurting religious sentiment during a Facebook live yesterday.

Later, police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.”

After the incident, Sherpur Police Station communicated with Kaliakoir Police Station and a team from the latter held the girl from her sister’s home.

When contacted, Monowar Hossain Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of Kaliakoir Police Station, confirmed the development to our Bogura correspondent.

Monowar Hossain said, “The girl came here to her sister’s house in Mouchak. We held her from Chandra Mor area last night and handed her over to Sherpur police in Bogura early today.”

However, the Kaliakoir OC said, “I understand that she is going through some psychological issues as her mother and father are living separately after divorce.”
