DMP launches quick response team for women, children undergoing abuse

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today launched a quick response team for women and children undergoing abuse.

“Any woman and child living in a situation of abuse can call the hotline and file a report, and the team will go over to the place where the victim is located,” said Deputy Commissioner of the Women Support and Investigation Division, Hamida Parveen.

The 5-member team will be based out of the Women Support and Investigation Division at Tejgaon police station.

The rescued person will be kept in the custody of the Victim Support Centre. “A lot of domestic workers live in conditions of abuse in the city. We will rescue them and help them go back home,” said Parveen.

DMP Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam launched the new team today.
